The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is designated as a market surveillance authority under the EU AI Act in respect of certain high-risk AI systems referred to in Annex I. These include AI systems used in toys, domestic gas products and personal protective equipment (PPE) in leisure settings. The CCPC will monitor and enforce compliance with the applicable obligations in relation to these systems.
