Rights and protection

Your rights

The EU AI Act introduces rules for organisations that develop or use AI, particularly where AI systems could affect people's safety or fundamental rights. In some situations, organisations must be transparent about their use of AI and ensure appropriate human oversight is in place.

The Act also prohibits certain AI practices that present an unacceptable level of risk and places additional obligations on organisations using high-risk AI systems. These measures are designed to help build trust and ensure AI is used responsibly.

Raising a concern

If you have concerns about how AI is being used, information and support are available. The AI Office of Ireland works with National Competent Authorities to help oversee the implementation of the EU AI Act and support organisations in meeting their responsibilities.

If you believe AI has been used in a way that may not comply with the legislation, or you want to understand your options, use the links below to find guidance on reporting concerns and keeping yourself safe.
