Commission for Regulation of Utilities

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) is Ireland’s independent energy and water regulator. The work of the CRU impacts every Irish home and business. We strive to ensue safe, secure, and sustainable energy and water supplies for the benefit of all customers. The work of the CRU also facilitates Ireland’s climate actions and transformation to ‘Net Zero’. We operate within a policy and statutory framework set by Government and are financed by means of a levy on regulated entities.
