ComReg

ComReg is the market surveillance authority (MSA) and notifying authority in Ireland for the purposes of Directive 2014/53/EU (the Radio Equipment Directive or RED). Radio equipment is any electrical or electronic product which intentionally emits or receives radio waves for the purpose of radiocommunication and / or radio-determination.

Annex I of the AI Act

ComReg has been designated as the MSA and notifying authority for AI systems classified as high-risk AI systems, related to products covered by the RED.

Annex III of the AI Act

Separately, ComReg will shortly be designated as a MSA for the purpose of the high-risk use case listed in point (2) of Annex III of the AI Act, in so far as it relates to AI systems intended to be used as safety components in the management and operation of critical digital infrastructure.
